Sleeping capacity is not passenger capacity
A motorhome can have a different number of passenger places and sleeping places. The motorhome for 3 is listed with four passenger places but beds for three; the motorhome for 4 has four passenger places and two double beds. The six-person option is listed with six passenger places and alternative bed layouts.
Make sure every traveller has an appropriate travelling seat and a suitable place to sleep. If you need child seats, discuss their suitability for the specific vehicle before booking.
Onboard facilities
The listed motorhomes include cooking facilities, a refrigerator, toilet, shower, sinks and heating. These features make it possible to organise meals and everyday routines around your own itinerary.
Check what is supplied for your particular reservation, including kitchen utensils, bedding and any optional equipment. Ask about water, power, heating and waste disposal during the handover so you are comfortable using the vehicle.
Plan for the size of a motorhome
Allow more room for parking and manoeuvring than you would in a passenger car. Take the vehicle height and width into account, and do not assume a route suitable for a small car is suitable for your motorhome.
Wind can be especially important for high-sided vehicles. Check the forecast, follow any restrictions, and adjust or postpone your journey when conditions require it.
Check the Icelandic Met Office and official road conditions before setting out.
Campsites and the final day
Check campsite opening dates, overnight arrangements and the services you will need along the way. Plan your final overnight stop with enough time for packing, agreed vehicle return requirements and your flight.
